What shaped the work
Healthcare Excellence Canada's Right Care Challenge supports teams working to improve access to primary and community care while reducing avoidable pressure on emergency departments.
More than 120 teams across 11 provinces and territories registered, with awards recognizing thoughtful plans, measurable progress, impact, sustainability and clear communication.

How the work happened
Working within a national review panel and shared assessment process, Emily considered both the strength of each team's improvement approach and its relevance to patients navigating access, equity and appropriate care.
